A printable cost and questions list

This free printable checklist helps you compare denture costs and ask clear questions before you commit. It is made to help you slow down, take notes, and better understand a written estimate from a licensed denture or dental provider.

A printable cost and questions list

What this gives you

This guide is a simple cost and questions list you can print and bring with you. It is not treatment advice. It is a tool to help you understand what you are being offered and what may be included in the written price.

Inside, you can track common denture words and compare costs side by side. The checklist explains each term in plain language the first time you see it.

  • Full denture, a removable set of replacement teeth for all teeth in the upper jaw, lower jaw, or both
  • Partial denture, a removable replacement for a few missing teeth, while some natural teeth remain
  • Immediate denture, a denture placed soon after teeth are removed, often before healing is complete
  • Reline, an adjustment to the inside fit of a denture so it sits more closely against your gums
  • Rebase, replacing the pink base part of a denture while keeping the denture teeth
  • Overdenture or implant-supported denture, a denture designed to attach to dental implants for added hold
  • Soft liner, a softer material placed inside some dentures for comfort in certain cases
  • Denturist, a licensed professional in some states who makes and fits dentures, depending on state rules

The checklist also helps you compare costs such as the denture itself, visits, adjustments, relines, repairs, extractions, imaging, and follow-up care. Costs can range widely, for example from $600 to $3,000 or more for some denture types, but prices vary by type, materials, provider, and area, and are not quotes.

You can also use this tool with our educational pages, like Denture Costs Guide and Types of Dentures.

How to use it

Bring the checklist to each visit or phone call. Ask the same questions each time. This makes it easier to compare one written estimate with another.

Use the page to write down what is included and what is not included. A low starting price may not include all visits or future fit changes. It is okay to ask the provider to slow down and explain each line.

  1. Ask for a written estimate, not just a spoken price
  2. Ask what denture type is being discussed
  3. Ask how many visits are included
  4. Ask whether adjustments are included, and for how long
  5. Ask whether a reline or rebase may be a separate cost later
  6. Ask whether extractions, imaging, sedation, repairs, or temporary dentures are billed separately
  7. Ask what materials are being used, and whether different materials change the cost
  8. Ask what follow-up care is included after delivery
  9. Ask what happens if the fit changes after healing
  10. Ask when final payment is due

Listen for helpful words in the estimate, such as included, separate fee, lab fee, adjustment, follow-up, temporary, final, repair, and warranty. If a word is unclear, ask, "Can you explain that in plain language?"

SmileAgain Match does not provide dental care or tell you which option to choose. We share educational information and offer free matching so you can speak with a licensed provider near you.

How to get matched for help

If you want help finding a denture or dental provider near you, we can help. Get matched for free.

Our matching service is free to readers. Participating providers pay a flat fee to take part. You can ask for contact details and a short note about what kind of help you want. Please do not send medical history, medications, insurance ID numbers, Social Security numbers, or immigration status.

This can be helpful if you are comparing providers, helping an older family member, or looking for someone who can explain things clearly. We also support many families who are more comfortable in a language other than English.

After you are matched, you can use this printable checklist when you call or visit. It can help you stay organized, ask calm questions, and better understand the full written price before you decide.

An honest note

SmileAgain Match is a free matching service, not a dentist or dental clinic. We share general, plain-language information so you can decide what fits. For anything specific to your mouth or health, talk to a licensed denture or dental provider, and confirm the type, the fit, and the full price in writing before any work starts.
